I used to love 'malling'. Before, I found it nice to walk along a series of shops and kiosks while examining what each saleslady can offer me. The huge red “Sale ” ads worked like magnets for me and my hubby then.
However, now that I’m 32 weeks pregnant with my twins, “malling” has become much of an exhausting hobby. The last time I had to buy groceries, my husband had to get me a wheelchair simply because I can’t make twenty steps in a row. I’ve also realized that ‘malling’ can also be a financially draining activity as in the case of my hubby who is so fond of shoes. Thank God we can shop online now!
I just started shopping online late December and among the first things I bought were baby diapers. I browsed through some classified ads in olx and fortunately, I was able to find lots of suppliers which offered cheap and imported (and high quality!) diapers at very low prices (I actually saved almost PhP100.00 for buying three packs). Most required buyers to pay for shipping fees but lucky me, I found a supplier who’s based here in Las Pinas too so delivery fees were waived.
After the diapers, I also used online classified ads to look for baby thingies, xmas gifts, and rent-a-car services (We have no car so we had to rent one for my holiday visits and prenatal checkups in QC). The fact that almost all of our usual activities can be done online now – from paying monthly bills to buying animals (I want a siberian husky!) – makes life a bit easy for me (and for other preggies and busy mommies as well, I bet).
So far, I haven’t had problems with my online transactions to date. In two months time, we’ll even try to expand our motor shop business online.
