Mommy Moments: Mother's Day 2010

At first, I wanted to skip this week's MM because the theme was Mother's Day and I really don't have much to share about that day.  I started that day (it was actually 'night' because we were all still awake during the wee hours of the morning) with a hug, a kiss, and a greeting from hubby... The End...  Actually, I was a bit sad that day since I wasn't able to visit my Mom and give her something. I just called her up to greet her and to tell her that I love her. That's it. I also didn't receive a card or a flower from hubby **sigh** and my babies are... well, babies, so they couldn't possibly come up with a card. However, I really appreciate all the bloggers, online friends, and "offline friends" :) who extended their greetings to me. I really felt remembered with all the FB photo tagging, wall posts, and mails. Before I started making this post, I read Mommy Chris' MM entry and she noted that we should write about why this year...

My First Pixel Bug Weekend :)

Sassy Mom invited me to Pixel Bug Weekend. It's a weekly meme posted every Monday showing the highlight of your weekend through photos :) (Thanks for the invite :) ) This is my first post... Last Friday (March 26), my eldest turned 1 year old, 2 months and the twins turned 1 month, 2 weeks. It's not really so special but then, I just found delight on the idea that there were 1-2 combinations with their ages :) Also, my baby yana is starting to recognize the value of 'picture-taking'. She's learning how to pose for photos and I took that opportunity to take lots and lots of pictures of her last Saturday. What else? hmmm. oh.. Hubby bought me a new shirt as his late monthsary gift for me (23 is The Date). Love you mine! :) and we spent Sunday eating lots and lots of chocolate ice cream! :)

Mommy Moments: Cars and Kids

This week's theme is 'Cars and Kids'. Unfortunately, we don't have a car... and we need it much, considering that we're already five now :) Anyway, I know for sure that Yana loves riding in a car. When we rented cars/vans for my prenatal check-ups before, Yana enjoyed the rides so much. During day rides, expect to see her well-behaved on her seat and staring at the windows... but come night time, prepare yourself for she will really try to stand on her seat and stick her face against the mirror (though I keep on pulling her back) :) Though she's a girl, hubby still bought a toy car for her and she liked it as well. On another note mommies, I'd like to share some pictures of the twins to you... Ysha and Yza are already a month old now :) Elyza Venice Elysha Velika And Mommies, I'm asking for your support again... Please drop by and comment on my entry for another blog contest I joined. My Most Special February

No, I didn’t go on a romantic date or on an out of town vacation. Half of it, I spent at home. The other half, at the hospital. Yet, I’m stupendously happy. In fact, I think this will be the most memorable February of my life because my twins were born this month. I welcomed February with anxiety, restlessness, excitement, and happiness. The twins were supposed to be born on Feb 16 (CS sched) and I used up the first ten days of the month preparing the bags, going to checkups, having lab tests, and trying to assure myself that everything will be okay. On Feb 12, I went to PGH alone to have my final prenatal checkup in preparation for my admission on Feb 15. Much to my surprise, the ob told me that I couldn’t go home anymore and that I’m up for the delivery of my twins in just a few more hours because I already had 4cm dilation. I called up my husband in a hurry and then I was sent to the OR right away. I had my CS operation and they were born between 1:40 and 2:00 pm. I was wide awake d...

What's in the bag?

Ten days to go before my actual CS operation and I'm actually having my MOMMY PANICKY MOOD. I'm listing and trying to prepare all the things we will need at the hospital and here at home. I'm trying to fill in the keepsake book with all the things that I want my babies to know about me, their tatay, my family, and life in general (In case something bad happens to me during the operation). Yes, I'm being a bit paranoid but I think it is a must for mommies to be prepared in case something bad happens to them. Trying my best to focus on the positive things that will probably really happen, I also prepared all the hospital documents, the list of baby names, and the baby clothes. I also prepared the 'baby bag' (yana's old baby bag), which strictly contains nothing but the must-haves of our twins. I'm going to put all my hospital baggage in a separate bag later. So what's in our baby bag? (I actually made a list which my husband can check) 6 feeding bot...

MOMMY MOMENTS: Newborn Days

4 in the am of January 26, 2009 (Chinese New Year) , I knew I was in labor. The pain was not that unbearable at first so I was able to sleep still, for three hours (We used to stay up late then). 7:00am, I woke up with my cramping legs and my stiff body. I cannot move around comfortably and I was thoroughly convinced that I'll see my baby girl in just a matter of hours. With that thought, I woke up my hubby. I was in a bit of panic. 8:00am, I was getting myself ready for the delivery (and my hubby was helping me). I took a bath, change my clothes, checked the baby bag, and the files. 9:00am, we were off to the lying-in clinic. 9:20am, we arrived at the clinic - my doctor scolding me for not showing up for the last two prenatal visits that I SHOULD have attended. 10:20am, I was off to a diagnostics center where I had to take an Ultrasound screening (again) plus the Glucose Challenge Test 10:30am - 3:00 pm - I was in labor but I was still having myself tested for my sugar level. Unfo...

Goodbye 2009...

2009 has been such a good year for me. Though the start of the year was not that good (we had a dozen financial problems... Mine had no job and I gave birth to our baby which meant that I had to stop working for a few weeks --- no work--no pay), 2009 was quite a blast for me in general... and here are some reasons why... My Yana was born... I'm pregnant with twins... a boy (Santiago Rafael) and a girl (Elisha Velika) My hubby is sooo hardworking and he loves us so much... My family has forgiven me na... and they still love me.. and my daughter too! I have a great job and we now have this small business... Thank you Lord for all the blessings you've provided us with... Hope 2010 will even be better :) (My New Year's wish: Sana healthy ang twins)

Not a Good Mom?

Next year, I’ll be having three kids… (I have a 10 month old daughter now, and by February, I’ll give birth to my twins). I know I’m one of the lucky few. Not everyone gets to have three lovely angels by her side! But still, I’m worried. THE BIGGEST DILEMMA: What if I don’t turn out to be a good mom? I’ve read a lot of books, participated in many forums, and I’ve practiced the “art of mommying” among my sisters but I still I can’t shake off the jitters. I’m just praying that everything will turn out well and I’m trying to prepare myself for everything… Part of this preparation for my full blown “mommyhood” next year is reading a book on child discipline. That’s why I’m crossing my fingers and joining the “New Dare to Discipline Book” contest of MarriageandBeyond.com . If you want to try it, here’s how: Visit MarriageandBeyond.com and subscribe to their blog; Write about the contest in your blog, Include a link in your post to the url of MarriageandBeyond.com ; Leave a comment with a l...
