PROJECT MMM: How to Monetize a BLOG

The last time I blogged about PROJECT MMM, I told you that I was going to do a research on it and I did. It's actually amazing how you can find lots of information on the web about blog monetization. The thing is, when you're reading through the tips of the experts, it seems like everything is so easy to do. Below are snippets of what I found out...

1st Blog Monetization Tip: The use of Google Adsense and PPC
PPC (pay per click) ads are very common. They can be in the form of in-text ads, banners, sidebars, headers, and more. This is how bloggers usually earn from their blogs. If you're in blogspot like me, then you ought to try
Google Adsense. Why? Because most experts think that it is the KING of PPC ads. It will only take you a few clicks to set it up. From your Blogger Dashboard, click the Lay-out Tab, and then from the page elements click "Add a gadget" and choose the Google Adsense widget. If ads don't show up on your blog, that just means that it hasn't passed Adsense requirements with regards to pornography, violence, profanity, and the likes.

PROS: This is very easy to setup, especially if you're using blogspot. Also, once you've placed the ads, you won't have to do anything more than to keep updating the content of your blog and start generating traffic

CONS: My problem with Google Adsense however is that your earnings would have to amount to $100 before they can send it to you - with $0.03 per click, I think it will take me a really long time before I can hit that hundred. Also, I think Adsense would occupy a lot of space on the blog which I should reserve for other monetization methods.

2nd Blog Monetization Tip: Review Products on Your Blog Through Review Sites
Now, this is something I would prefer. They say that you can earn with your blog by reviewing products, services, and websites. This works by signing up your blog with review sites that coordinate between advertisers and bloggers. Some of the most popular are
BuyBlogReviews, PayperPost, Review Me, PayU2Blog, SponsoredReviews, Smorty, Social Spark, etc.. There's even a Philippine review site - Blog4Reviews.
Basically, you'll get paid after posting about a certain product or service. You'll sign up for a blogger account, market your blog, bid for projects, and/or just wait for an advertiser to request a review from you.

PROS: Your earnings will mainly depend on how much you work - particularly on how many reviews you win from bids and write.

CONS: They say that it is hard to find products that will fit the niche you've chosen for your blog, but I guess that wouldn't be a problem for me because Mommy's Infodose is a bit general and there are tons of topics that fit it. My only problem is the most common requirement of the Review Sites - that the blog should at least be 2 months old.

3rd Blog Monetization Tip: Be an Affiliate Marketer and Sell a Product
When you become an affiliate marketer, you'll basically act as an online salesperson. You write about a certain product or service and then provide a link where the prospective customer can buy it. Your earnings will be on a commission basis, meaning you earn only when you successfully sell the product from your site. Experts recommend Clickbank and Amazon Associates but there are tons of affiliate marketing programs you can find online.

PROS: Like the 2nd method, the amount you earn depends on your ability. Also, you get to choose which ads you want to place on your site.

CONS: Your blog should be able to generate tons of traffic and right now, I still don't have that.

I guess I'll try all of these bit by bit, whichever my new blog qualifies for. Will blog again later. Please visit http://yourinfodose.blogspot.com/.

Real Leaf Paparazzi

I have never been a fan of sodas. Nor did I ever engage in a one-night spree with beer or vodka. Instead, I have always loved ice-cold tea. Drinking tea is a habit I’ve developed since I was in college and my ‘tea-addictivity’ has never wavered since. I’ve patiently put up with teabags for years but fortunately, bottled-up teas are now available and distributed in heaps. These days, I’m much fond of Nestea’s Real Leaf Tea and I share this fondness with my two closest “allies” – my partner in life and my younger brother. W hat follows is our one big atte mpt to encourage more people to engage in our quest for a Real Life with Coca Cola’s Real Le af tea (and of course, an attempt to get a prize from Nuffnang's exciting contest- Real Leaf Paparazzi!)… This is the typical “Juan” trying to have a Real Life. With the help of the Real Leaf tea, my brother 'John' tries to stay 100% on. He tries to relieve the exhaustion, stress, and anxiety brought by… (a) a hard day’s work as a n...

Life In Taborea: The World Of Runes Of Magic

Runes of Magic (RoM) is a free massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) developed by the Taiwanese developer Runewaker Entertainment. It's here in the Philippines now, and has been in Open Beta since January 8. My brother is addicted to the game and I have read a lot of rave reviews about it. The most frequent of which is the fact that its graphics are very appealing and quite realistic. S et in a fantasy world filled with magic, monsters, and heroes, it gives you an out of this world experience as you try out a variety of quests and battle with f ellow players and monsters. Whenever you take on your character - may it be a rogue, mage, priest, warrior, or knight, you will feel as if you're leading a double life. Those who have loved DOTA and World of Warcraft will definitely enj oy this game more. Mommy Moments: Dear Mommy

Dear Mommy Dear Mommy, your child is your princess. She is your responsibility. If not for her own sake, never let her get hurt by any means. Dear Mommy, your child is your fan. She learns and takes after what you do, how you feel, where you go, how you react, what you think, why you love and why you hate. For her, be the best. Do not fail at being a good person for she too might suffer the same fate. Dear Mommy, your child is your student. Teach her everything that you know and guide her in every way that you can. Bombard her with good thoughts, warm emotions, and logical and critical reasoning. Empower her with love, understanding and patience. Dear Mommy, your child is your flesh and blood. Accept her. Recognize the whole of her - strengths, weaknesses, successes, and failures. Never forsake her for making wrong decisions and doing wrong things. She needs your guidance and your encouragement, not your pity, pride, and punishment. She needs you even when she says she doesn...
