MOMMY MOMENTS: Newborn Days

4 in the am of January 26, 2009 (Chinese New Year) , I knew I was in labor. The pain was not that unbearable at first so I was able to sleep still, for three hours (We used to stay up late then). 7:00am, I woke up with my cramping legs and my stiff body. I cannot move around comfortably and I was thoroughly convinced that I'll see my baby girl in just a matter of hours. With that thought, I woke up my hubby. I was in a bit of panic. 8:00am, I was getting myself ready for the delivery (and my hubby was helping me). I took a bath, change my clothes, checked the baby bag, and the files. 9:00am, we were off to the lying-in clinic. 9:20am, we arrived at the clinic - my doctor scolding me for not showing up for the last two prenatal visits that I SHOULD have attended. 10:20am, I was off to a diagnostics center where I had to take an Ultrasound screening (again) plus the Glucose Challenge Test 10:30am - 3:00 pm - I was in labor but I was still having myself tested for my sugar level. Run For Free College Education

Stacey (from www.staceyavenue.com ) is celebrating her blog anniversary and she came up with this excellent campaign for the benefit of the Filipino youth – she invites fellow bloggers to join her in her quest to spread the news about an upcoming grand event for a noble cause…. Run For Free College Education Recent UNESCO statistics shows that only one among five college freshmen will graduate. Another report yields a consistently high college drop-out rate at 73%. As such, it cannot be denied that the state of education in our country is still appalling. Why? The reasons are plenty – poverty, priorities, tradition, family ties, and more. However, the most glaring issue that haunts all of us is the fact that while the country is continuously being mired in economic quagmire, the cost of private tertiary education continuously increases as slots for scholarships and free college education in state schools radically decline. In response to this alarming situation, Kamang

Preggies should thank God for online classified ads!

I used to love 'malling'. Before, I found it nice to walk along a series of shops and kiosks while examining what each saleslady can offer me. The huge red “ Sale ” ads worked like magnets for me and my hubby then. However, now that I’m 32 weeks pregnant with my twins, “malling” has become much of an exhausting hobby. The last time I had to buy groceries, my husband had to get me a wheelchair simply because I can’t make twenty steps in a row. I’ve also realized that ‘malling’ can also be a financially draining activity as in the case of my hubby who is so fond of shoes. Thank God we can shop online now! I just started shopping online late December and among the first things I bought were baby diapers. I browsed through some classified ads in olx and fortunately, I was able to find lots of suppliers which offered cheap and imported (and high quality!) diapers at very low prices (I actually saved almost PhP100.00 for buying three packs). Most required buyers to pay for shipping
