What's in the bag?

Ten days to go before my actual CS operation and I'm actually having my MOMMY PANICKY MOOD. I'm listing and trying to prepare all the things we will need at the hospital and here at home. I'm trying to fill in the keepsake book with all the things that I want my babies to know about me, their tatay, my family, and life in general (In case something bad happens to me during the operation). Yes, I'm being a bit paranoid but I think it is a must for mommies to be prepared in case something bad happens to them. Trying my best to focus on the positive things that will probably really happen, I also prepared all the hospital documents, the list of baby names, and the baby clothes. I also prepared the 'baby bag' (yana's old baby bag), which strictly contains nothing but the must-haves of our twins. I'm going to put all my hospital baggage in a separate bag later. So what's in our baby bag? (I actually made a list which my husband can check) 6 feeding bot...

Mommy Moments: My Yana’s Favorites

Favorite Activities: Fortunately, she has gotten past her inclination to electric wires and bulbs. Now, she is more fond of walking, picking up little bits and pieces and eating whatever it is that she can pick up, taking a bath, riding a motorcycle, playing peek-a-boo, tracking reflections on the mirror, hugging, kissing, cuddling, and dancing (in an odd sit-down-sit-down-you’re-rocking-the-boat manner). Favorite Food: Chocolate cake, Cream-O, Fried Chic ken, Fried Tilapi a Favorite Color: Yellow Favorite Cartoon Character: SpongeBob. S he’s a certified Spongebob fanatic. She yells whenever she sees Spongebob – on TV, on someone else’s shirt, keychains, bags, stickers, blankets, whatever. On top of that, whenever she hears the TV show’s theme song, she starts dancing and yelling (in a sing-song tone). Favorite Music: Spongebob’s theme song Favorite TV Show: Spongebob Square Pants Favorite Pet: Cat (She yells “cat” whenever she sees cats --- and dogs) Favorite Gadget: Mobile Phones an...

MOMMY MOMENTS: Newborn Days

4 in the am of January 26, 2009 (Chinese New Year) , I knew I was in labor. The pain was not that unbearable at first so I was able to sleep still, for three hours (We used to stay up late then). 7:00am, I woke up with my cramping legs and my stiff body. I cannot move around comfortably and I was thoroughly convinced that I'll see my baby girl in just a matter of hours. With that thought, I woke up my hubby. I was in a bit of panic. 8:00am, I was getting myself ready for the delivery (and my hubby was helping me). I took a bath, change my clothes, checked the baby bag, and the files. 9:00am, we were off to the lying-in clinic. 9:20am, we arrived at the clinic - my doctor scolding me for not showing up for the last two prenatal visits that I SHOULD have attended. 10:20am, I was off to a diagnostics center where I had to take an Ultrasound screening (again) plus the Glucose Challenge Test 10:30am - 3:00 pm - I was in labor but I was still having myself tested for my sugar level. Unfo...

The Princess and The Tea...

What happens when you leave your baby with the Real Leaf green tea. .. If she frequently sees her parents with Real Leaf, then chances are, she already knows that she's supposed to drink from the bottle... but the problem is... how will she drink from it?... or worse, how would she open it... she twists, flips, and turns the bottle... and finally, her one desperate attempt... tsktsk.. my poor baby... when she turns one this 26th, I'll give her a cupful...

Steps and Milestones...

See how my baby walks... My darling daughter is sooo makulit. She just started walking (well, the official date for that is Dec 02, 09 @ 10 months but I didn't have a cam then) and she's exploring the whole house as much as she can. Whenever she sees that the door to the motor shop is open, she tries to rush off and sneak out. I find it hard to run after her as my tummy is overly large now. I just yell "No" but she just looks at me with a naughty smile and then goes on wit h her mischievous deed without heed to what I'm telling her. Annoying but adorable really :) I'm so so proud of her... not only every time she takes her awkward balancing acts but especially when she stands up each time she takes the wrong step and falls. When she first attempted to walk on her own, I did try to stop her, simply because I knew that there was a possibility that she'll get hurt. However, I also knew that if I didn't let go, then she would never learn how to walk at all...

**** THIS IS ME ****

The mole-bombarded girl with weary yet bright eyes in the mirror is looking at me. She is confused most of the time- troubled about how she is leading her life in contrast to how she’s supposed to. Concocting life philosophies and singing seem to be her enduring hobbies. She never stops thinking. But her feelings almost always displace her thoughts. Her life is much like a blooming flower bombarded with thorns. Yet, she stubbornly persists to grip it tightly. She doesn’t want to lose her way, but almost always does. She almost always slips and falls- both literally and figuratively, and whenever she does, she starts laughing and insists to stand up though her knees are aching. Giving up is not in her to-do list. Childish, they say, stubborn they call her- those define her really. When you’re around her, look forward to be shouted at or cursed upon, if not totally beaten up for she has adapted some sadistic qualities from her collection of psycho-thriller novels. Note that when she caus...
